Dr. Daniel has helped individuals, groups through the effective collaboration of experts in identifying, preventing and mitigating the impacts of infectious diseases and of environmental, chemical and radiological threats. It is a subset of public health—the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health through the organized efforts of society.

It deals with action in handling situations that demand immediate action and which require a mixture of complex tasks involving medical, laboratory, family, organizational, media/communications and political strategies.
